To all whom these presents shall comelyrecty ?know. Yea that on the 16th day of April in the year of out Lord 1796. The last will and Testament of Alexander Robertson was prsocd and approved of by and that the Administration of all and singular the goods and chattles (sic) Rights and credits of the said deceased within the county and state or elsewhere was thereupon granted and committed by us to David Hamilton and Simon Cameron Executors named in the said will who being duly sworn will and faithfully to administer agreeable of the said will and make a full and perfect Inventory of all and singular the goods and Chattles (sic) Rights and credits of the said ?????? and exhibit the same Inventory into the office of the clerk of our said court on or before the 16th day of January next and to render a true acct ??loulation and reckoning thereof when thereunto required.

In the Name of God Amen. I Alexander Robertson of Fairfield County in the State of South Carolina being infirm in Body but of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this life and that it is appointed for all men once to die yet living in the sure and certain hope of a Glorious Resurrection and the pardon of all my sins through the mercies of God in Christ Jesus. I therefore Bequeath my sole to God who gave it and my Body I order to be decadently buried in its hindered Earth in the family burring grounds on Jackson Creek and as to the property real and personal which God in his great kindness has bestowed upon me it is my will and desire that they be disposed of in the manner following ????? after all ?? and my just and lawful debts are paid. Donprimis I give and bequeath unto my loving Margaret Robertson provided she does not marry again or during her Witter hood all the plantation  and Negroes with all ???? stock and plantation tools furniture ??? for the purpose of raising and educating the children but in case she chooses to marry again then she is to get one horse and saddle valued at ?arloe pounds sterling with a bedding of clothes and a child's part of the household furniture with two ???? and ????? She is to retain said property for the education and raising the children ???? each girls part until she marries and each boys part until he becomes of age.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving son John Robertson one hundred acres of land that I purchased of Andrew Cameron also one Negro man named Sharper but in case the Negro wench Ursa hereafter to be bequeathed has no children them the said John Robertson is to give unto his two youngest brothers fifteen pounds sterling when he comes of age.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving son Alexander Robertson one hundred acres of land out of that tract formally ????? with the above named Negro wench Ursa when he comes of age and he is to pay fifteen pounds sterling unto his two youngest brothers Joseph and Simon in case Ursa has not any man children but in case she has one man child it is to be divided equally between Joseph and Simon and then John and Alexander are only to pay their brothers Joseph and Simon only seven pounds ten shillings apace and in case she has two then they are to be given to the said Joseph and Simon and John  and Alexander are to give their youngest brothers nothing.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving son Joseph Robertson the plantation whereon I now live.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my youngest son Simon Robertson the remainders of the tract formally mentioned.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Jane Moore one hundred acres that has already laid off out of the tract formally McCle land.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Paliana Caldwell one Negro girl named Shakey when she marries with her ridding saddle bed and bed clothes and then she is to give fifteen pounds sterling unto her two youngest brothers.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Elizabeth Robertson one Negro girl named Cuba when she marries also a bed and bed clothes then she is to give her two youngest brothers fifteen pounds sterling she is to have a ridding saddle also.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Margaret Agnes Robertson one Negro boy named Prince until his mother Ursa has a female child before that my said daughter marries which said female child is to be hers in place of the boy with her clothes bed and bed clothes provided she pays also As her sisters unto her two youngest brothers Joseph and Simon with her riding saddle.

 

Item it is likewise my will and desire that the whole of the stock and production of the said plantation be applied to the raising clothing and schooling of my children the whole of which with the household furniture go to be at the sole disposal of my loving wife Margaret Robinson while she continues a widow and lastly I constitute and appoint Simon Cameron James Cameron and David Hamilton executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of January 1796.

            Thefe are to authorife and empower you, or any three or four of you, whofe names are here unto written, to repair to all fuch places within this State as you fhall be directed unto by David Hamilton and Simon Cameron Administrators of the Goods and Chattels, Right and Credits of Alexander Robertson late of the faid County, deceased, wherefoever any of the faid parts and places, and which fhall be fhewn unto you by the faid by David Hamilton and Simon Cameron and there view and appraife all and every the faid Goods and Chattels, being firft duly fworn, on the Holy Evangelifts of Almighty God to make a true and perfect Inventory and Appraifement thereof, and to caufe the fame to be returned under your hands, or any three or four of you, by David Hamilton and Simon Cameron on or before the Fourteenth day of July next.

Memorandum, That on the Twenty eight day of May in the year of our Lord one thoufland feven hundred and ninety six perfonally appeared before me Henry Moore Esquire one of the Juftices afligned to keep the peace in Fairfield county, John McCrory, James Cameron and John Cameron being three of the appraifers appointed to appraife the Goods and Chattels (ready Money only excepted) of the faid Alexander Robertson, deceafed, as shall be produced by David Hamilton and Simon Cameron Adminiftrators of the Eftate of the faid Deceased, and that they would return the fame, certified under their hands unto said Hamilton & Cameron on or before the Fourteenth day of July next.
