Henry Poling (Pollard) Cathcart
1839-1915

Henry's middle name has also been recorded as: Poling, Pollard and Poland. I am leaning toward the first iteration, based on the labels written onto photographs we have of Henry.

It's very likely that Henry fits in to the  "Spartanburg Cathcarts."

After leaving South Carolina, Henry moved to Mississippi, and later to Monroe County, Indiana — the same County as a branch of my Cathcart line.

It seems nearly certain that Henry was buried in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Pauline, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Although the FindaGrave.com memorial lists the name as E P Cathcart, I believe the dates match close enough to indicate that this was a mis-transcription of HP Cathcart.
