William Cathcart
b. 1774-1784 d. 1804; M. Rachel Neely
I have tentatively listed William as a son of Joseph Cathcart, Sr. (the
Revolutionary war spy). This is not proven!
Many family historical records indicate that William died fairly young,
having had only one son: Joseph Harvey Cathcart, Sr.
Although born in Ireland, apparently William left Scotland for South
Carolina via Cape Fear. This may explain why so many online records indicate
William's place of birth as Scotland.
